Woman of achievement banquet and fundraiser
Each year, the Zonta Club of Austin recognizes women in our community that have made a lasting impact. The banquet also serves as a fundraiser for two local scholarships and other service projects. 16 Days of violence against women
November 25th - December 10th
Zonta International has chosen November 25 through December 10th for 16 Days for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. November 25th is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and December 10th is Human Rights Day.
During this time frame, club members place 16 yellow flags at the Peace Plaza near the courthouse to recognize each day of activism. This time of year was chosen because there is a rise in domestic violence around the holidays.
